We’re five years old! Since the dark days of free monthly bar sessions at the Contact Theatre, past two years of the crushing heat of Night and Day, through another 18 months of pre-closure Band on the Wall and now finally to the grander designs of the Mint Lounge, the C’mon Feet crew have been relentlessly championing quality hip hop in Manchester since 2000.
To celebrate five long years in the game we’re throwing a party at Mint Lounge this Friday 9 December and we’ve invited some true C’mon Feet heroes up from London to get it going…ASAVIOUR and JEHST are both longtime regulars at C’mon Feet and are two of the UK’s top rappers of the last five years, so it’s about right that they come to kick off our celebrations. Expect them to dip into their prolific back catalogues, drop some heavy freestyles, debut their new material and generally set the club on fire…..with them on the decks is DJ IQ, a young turntablist and producer who’s been doing deck support for these two for years. As it says on the flyer, if you sleep on these three, you might as well give up now…
Plus of course our residents are going to unleash themselves on the party crowd - ANDY PEEK, KONNY KON and DJ A-UP bring the heat this month.
If you still don’t know about Jehst then check his “Return of the Drifter” CD for some classic material or pick up his new LP, “Nuke Proof Suit”. As for Asaviour, he’s just put out a wicked mixtape called “Play2Win” with DJ IQ and has a new album, “The Borrowed Ladder” ready to drop in January.
